A season of giving

During Christmas 2024, our BCCG team organized a “Christmas Dinner Delight” an event in support of our new neighbours living in Bells Corners. The goal of the event was to ensure that fewer families go hungry, while creating a spirit of giving during the holidays.

The dinner was made possible thanks to the generous support of the City of Ottawa Civic Event Funding, the Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre, FAMSAC Food Cupboard, Councillor Laine Johnson, the City of Ottawa’s Integrated Neighbourhood Services Team, and contributions from community members.

For the Community Christmas Dinner this year, we welcome the same partners and we are joined by new friends from the South Nepean Community Health Centre, and the Nepean Rideau & Osgoode Community Resource Centre. We can’t wait to make merry and bright with our Bell Corners’ neighbours again for Christmas 2025!

A picture-perfect photo!

Local business Zoom Photobooth offers high-quality prints, digital sharing, custom branding, and interactive experiences, all treats that are perfect for a Christmas party.

Thanks to their generous sponsorship last year, families were able to capture festive Christmas memories! With fun props, top-notch lighting, and plenty of holiday cheer, it was time for families to strike a happy holiday pose! Plus, each family received a printed copy of their photo to take home.

Rooted in kindness

After getting their Christmas photos taken, families had dinner which included halal chicken, rice, sweet potato, steamed vegetables, fruit salad and cake. Plus, there were free books, winter toques, and gift bags for the children.

The 2024 Christmas Dinner Delight event was a pilot for bringing joy to families during the holidays. Check out photos below from the event, and stay tuned for more on our 2025 Community Christmas Dinner.

“What a fun and uplifting day organizing the food preparation and cooking for the first BCCG Christmas Community Dinner! I loved bringing my culinary expertise to this wonderful cause of sharing good food with good neighbours!”
